GovBidWire Public API
Read-only, versioned access to solicitation data for Enterprise customers. If you need machine-to-machine access to bid data — for an internal dashboard, a CRM sync, or a custom integration — this is that surface.
Getting an API key
API access is included with Enterprise plans. An organization owner or admin creates and manages keys from the org's settings page. Each key is shown once at creation — copy it immediately, since GovBidWire never stores or can redisplay the raw key afterward (only a fingerprint, for identifying which key is which).
Authentication
Send your key as a bearer token, never as a query parameter:
Authorization: Bearer gbw_live_<your key>A missing or invalid key returns 401. A key belonging to an organization whose plan no longer includes API access returns 402.
Rate limits
Each key has its own per-minute limit (60 requests/minute by default; ask your account owner to raise it if you need more). Exceeding it returns 429 with a message indicating roughly how long to wait before retrying — the limit resets every minute.

Response shape and field redaction match the equivalent in-app endpoints exactly — this API never returns more than an Enterprise-plan user already sees in the app.
